2. Middle Eastern Spices and Preserved Lemons

Everyone is experimenting with new flavour profiles. Plus, fermented foods have a pleasant, zingy flavour that can help cut through the richness of fatty foods. Don’t want to eat it? Why not try brewing your own healthy Kombucha drink?

4. Magical Mushrooms

And no, not that kind! You can find all sorts of mushrooms at your grocers nowadays. Why have boring white button mushrooms when you can delight in meaty oyster mushrooms or chanterelles instead? The vegans are onto something! If you want to enjoy a meat-free meal, we recommend you try marinated mushrooms instead of meat. Don’t want to go meatless – give your immune system a boost with mushroom soup. 

5. Heritage Cooking – With A Twist!

We love a good boerie roll, but let’s change things up a bit, shall we? Instead of tomato sauce, why not top it with mango chutney or papaya salsa?
